### In the lessons

A softer, more formal word than «lying» or «a liar», used in school, reports and stories about honesty. Tells the reader a character cannot be trusted. In safety, adverts or online messages may be untruthful.

### Note

Takes «an». Gentler than «liar» but means the same idea. Opposite: truthful, honest. A mistake is not always untruthful: lying means knowing it is false.
