In science lessons about the Arctic and adaptations, the walrus keeps warm with blubber, uses its tusks to pull itself out of the water onto ice and to fight, and finds clams on the sea floor with its sensitive whiskers. Walruses are threatened as sea ice melts with climate change. In poems such as «The Walrus and the Carpenter» it is a funny character. Phrases: a herd of walruses, walrus tusks, walrus moustache.
