## In Jewish tradition

It means going from place to place without a home. It can mean being lost, like Joseph looking for his brothers, or a life of exile. Ecclesiastes also uses it for the mind's restless desire.

**Interpretation.** The tradition ties wandering to Abraham, to the desert years and to the exile of the Jewish people.
