### Note

Maths: «one way» doubles for a round trip; «halfway» means half the distance; «how many ways» asks for counting choices — list them all so you miss none. Casual «way» = very («way bigger»), not a road. «No way!» is often surprise, not a refusal. Formal «manner» and «method» = way.

## In Jewish tradition

In the Torah it often means a journey or road, or a person's way of living and acting, as in "the way of the LORD." In the Prophets and Writings it often means a person's conduct or God's ways of acting.

**Interpretation.** Tradition reads "the way of the LORD" as a path of right living, following God's ways such as being merciful and just. The law is later called halakhah, "the going" or way. Job's questions about God's way are read as the struggle to understand God's justice.
