It is wonderful + -ly; note the double l: wonderfully. Similar: brilliantly, marvellously (UK) / marvelously (US), beautifully. Do not confuse with "wondering" (thinking about something).

## In Jewish tradition

In Psalm 139 a person is "fearfully and wonderfully made", which means made in an amazing way by God. In Lamentations and Daniel the word means astonishingly, in a terrible way.

**Interpretation.** The tradition reads Psalm 139 as praise for God's skill in making the human body.
