## In Jewish tradition

It describes human or divine anger, as with Cain, Jacob, David, and God who was angry with Israel in the desert. Lamentations asks whether God can be exceedingly wroth with His people.

**Interpretation.** Cain's anger is read as the first step towards the first murder, so the tradition takes it as a warning about anger.
