### In the lessons

Very common in children's talk and stories with real speech: yucky food, yucky mud, yucky medicine. The sound word «yuck!» is said when something is disgusting. Tells the reader the speaker strongly dislikes it.

Informal; in school writing use «disgusting» or «unpleasant». From «yuck» (US also «yuk»). Comparative yuckier (y → i).
